Crete has a unique flora and fauna, mediteranean climate, mountains, gorges, plains, coasts and endless beaches and bays. Proud and warm hearted people, an extensive cultural history, a deeply moving past and presence. A small “continent” between Asia, Africa and Europe. A spot full of legends and myths, full of history and fortune.

Your holiday home is situated in the diversified South of the island in the beautiful village of Kamilari. The house is central, but quite close to the village. In only a few minutes walk you can reach the Plateia (village square) as well as all restaurants, cafes and shops. Kamilari still offers traditional cretan village life and you will find a tolerant cooperation among the village people. You will enjoy stunning views of the Ida mountains with the 2456m high Psiloritis, the highest mountain of the island to the North, as well as to the neighbouring village of Timbaki and its surroundings to the West. The Messara plain can be found to the East and the Libyan Sea to the South West. It`s only a short distance to many fantastic beach locations (e.g. the long Komos beach or the follow up beach of Kalamaki). In the narrow streets and alleyways of the old village you will find a real part of old Crete: two small main squares, three churches and colorful kafeneios full of character and very good tavernas, frequented by locals and visitors alike.

Kamilari still keeps it's familiar atmosphere and is quite unspoilt from mass tourism – anyhow it is very popular among individual tourists.
Kamilari is a perfect initial point for numerous activities and trips on the whole island. There are also nice walks nearby. Beside the spectacular surrounding nature there are also popular archaeological sites like Agia Triada and Phaistos or even closer to the house one of the most famous Minoan Tholos Tombs of the island. In the village there`s a supermarket and within short distance there are 2 villages with further shopping facilities, weekly markets, farmacies, doctors, a hospital, post offices and banks.
